A unique consulting experience

Our projects cover a broad range of industry sectors, from retail/consumer to industrials, healthcare, financial services, tech, media, telecoms, utilities, B2B services and public sector. And our work spans strategy, including growth, digital, sustainability, and M&A, and transformation, encompassing operational performance improvement, organisation, and commercial effectiveness.

What makes Eden McCallum unique is that all our projects are delivered by carefully crafted hybrid teams of experienced independent consultants, supported by our in-house analysts and led by our in-house partners. This combination brings faster, deeper insight and lasting impact to our clients.

As an analyst, you will be exposed to a range of sectors and functions, enabling you to gain broad insight into the key management issues that leading companies face. Our teams are collaborative, and everyone plays an important role in solving our clients' most pressing business issues.

Our Work

Your role

Our analysts are employed full-time by Eden McCallum, working out of our London or Amsterdam offices. After an initial three weeks of training, you will immediately be a core member of one of our project teams. You will work closely with the very best independent consultants, whose backgrounds combine experience from other top managment consulting firms (such as McKinsey, Bain and BCG) and industry. You will be given responsibility for delivering elements of our client projects, as well as actively contributing to the wider team problem solving efforts.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in Eden McCallum’s pro bono work through our NGO Partnership, which enables you to use your business skills in a different environment and for social rather than commercial impact. And you will have opportunities to participate in internal initiatives that support the strategic priorities of our entrepreneurial and growing firm.

Training and learning

Development and mentoring

Role progression and career path

Our structured training programme and project-based learning will equip you with a toolkit that enables you to add value to our clients from the very start, and develops your broader business skills.

This begins with a three-week induction consisting of formal training delivered by external and internal trainers, focussing on core consulting skills including problem solving and communications. Subsequent regular training sessions address topics such as financial accounting and modelling as well as presentation and interpersonal skills. In the later years of the programme there is more flexibility and personalised training, including coaching. All sessions focus on developing you both as a consultant and as a future business leader.

A key element of the Analyst role is on-the-job training, on both client and internal projects, where you will receive regular informal and formal feedback. In addition, you will build a network and friendships for life – from your cohort, the broader Analyst and Associate Consultant group, your teammates, independent consultants, and clients.

You will have the opportunity to stretch yourself, develop a strong business grounding, and build your professional skills in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, with the support of our senior team.

You will develop the tools and skills required to be a successful management consultant and a future business leader, including:
– Problem definition and problem solving approaches
– Qualitative and quantitative research techniques
– Analysis and business modelling skills
– Communication and presentation skills
– Client and stakeholder engagement

We are committed to help you to grow and develop, and our senior team invests significant time to share personal experiences and nurture you to become your best self. You will be assigned a mentor, a member of our senior team, who will oversee and manage your professional development throughout your career with us; and a buddy, a seasoned member of the Analyst Programme, to support you as you begin the journey.

You will have opportunities to progress within Eden McCallum and we will guide you as you prepare for the next stage in your career.

After an initial 2 years as an Analyst, strong performers are promoted to Associate Consultant (AC), with a further potential promotion to Consultant two years later.  As you step-up into broader, more challenging and rewarding roles, you are encouraged to stretch yourself, taking on greater responsibility for client relationships, managing others, leading components of projects, and further broadening and deepening your consulting toolkit.

Your time with us will help you identify and better understand the industries and functions that you’re excited about pursuing more deeply, and open doors to new areas. Your mentor, and the wider group of partners and staff, will provide guidance, ideas and support at all stages in planning and transitioning to your next career opportunity. Recent leavers have had the opportunity to join other top-tier management consultancies, strategy departments within industry, start-ups and private equity firms.
