AI strategy and delivery roadmap for a leading European law firm
Equipped a top European law firm with the 3-year AI strategy and delivery plan to remain ahead of a rapidly changing legal AI landscape.
Our team worked with the client leadership team to develop a prioritised plan that would accelerate AI integration and adoption and address implications for pricing, proposition, infrastructure and operations.
Context
Our client, a leading law firm that had already invested in both proprietary legal AI tech and general AI tools, had embedded AI within a cross-practice team to support client delivery in key areas – which was gaining increasing traction.
In the face of the rapidly evolving AI landscape in the legal industry, the firm wanted to develop a prioritised set of tangible next steps to drive AI through integration and adoption, and to understand implications for client pricing and economics, new legal service offerings, the firm’s tech stack and the evolution of legal workflows.
Approach
Through internal and external interviews, competitor analysis and research on the GenAI landscape we built an understanding of the overall landscape, competitive responses, the firm’s clients’ evolving needs, firm economics at practice area level, and the resources required to implement changes.
Working with the core leadership team, we assessed the implications across client proposition, competitive positioning, pricing, delivery processes, internal organisation and operations, legal tech deployment, and talent recruitment. Together we created a prioritised set of strategic AI initiatives and designed a roadmap for development and delivery of the plans.
Impact
The work culminated in a two-day, firm-wide partner offsite, and the discussion with the broader partner group generated considerable buy-in and enthusiasm, thus bolstering the firm’s efforts to embed AI across the business and give it true competitive advantage within its European market.
The firm is currently rolling out the plans.
