Transformation programme design for a B2B technology provider

Supported this tech company to rapidly detail a transformation programme to increase profits by 5-6%

In a rapid and pragmatic effort we set up a PMO and led the mapping out of initiatives, a tight prioritisation, more detailed design on priority workstreams and the technical setup of programme tracking, leaving the client set up to deliver the implementation internally.

Context

Operating in the high-spec corporate office segment, this technology business had been badly damaged by the pandemic. Private equity-owned, they had failed to meet their revenue targets.

In response they had conducted a strategy review and defined a way forward including an ambitious transformation plan. They engaged Eden McCallum to rapidly translate that plan into a detailed and robust roadmap to delivery.

Approach

Our lead consultant, in close collaboration with internal workstream leads, structured and set up the PMO, drawing on his own sector expertise and extensive track record in transformation and cost cutting.

Combined consultant and client teams then developed business cases for each of the 50 initiatives in the high-level plan. They pulled together the overarching programme, pragmatically narrowing down to the c.15 initiatives that would deliver 90% of the impact. Working thematically, they then translated from initiatives to action plans including resourcing, timings, and benefits tracking.

Impact

The client endorsed the programme plan and embarked upon the transformation, which recently completed its first phase.

Early indicators are that the company has turned the corner with their performance, and they expect to achieve the targeted EBITDA improvement of +5-6%.
