Holly Mason, Analyst
University of Cambridge
I’ve been attracted to the Analyst role at Eden McCallum by the opportunity to work on challenging projects alongside some of the most experienced consultants in the industry. Now a couple of weeks into my first project, the experience so far has certainly lived up to my expectations.
Coming from a geography background with limited business knowledge, consulting offers me the chance to learn about several different industries – something I want to achieve. I have been delighted by the breadth of businesses and industries consultants work across, with my first project for a client in the plumbing industry. There is, not surprisingly, much more to this area than I had ever realised and I have found I am constantly learning new things. My work so far has been very varied, ranging from store visits and interviews to market research and analysis, and has really given me a first flavour of the consulting lifestyle.
Eden McCallum is a very supportive environment and I have found the comprehensive initial training programme and guidance from the other analysts extremely helpful. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience so far and am looking forward to further developing my skills through all the opportunities presented.
Fun fact: I am a keen horse-rider, mainly competing in eventing, however I have also tried my hand at racing and won the 2015 Oxford-Cambridge Varsity Horse Race!Return to Analyst/Associate Perspectives
